Statistical module

A comprehensive web service for analyzing agricultural land use patterns in Ukraine using satellite data. The system identifies crop types, tracks land discrepancies between satellite imagery and official records, and provides analytical tools for agricultural monitoring and financial access improvement for smallholder farms.

Client Challenges / Goals

Annually, national crop maps for summer and winter crops are created using Sentinel satellite data. These maps are a vital source of information as they allow for determining the percentage of agricultural crop coverage within specific land parcels and enable the tracking of land use changes over the years.

One of the significant outcomes of this web service is the creation of records detailing the multi-year usage of land at the parcel level.

This information will have practical applications in a project aimed at improving access to financing for smallholder farms. Additionally, these records can be used for further analysis, the development of land resource management strategies, and supporting Ukraine’s integration into the European Union through the development of modern monitoring and land management systems.

The average time from the receipt of a new satellite image to the appearance of initial analysis results in the system is 6 to 24 hours, depending on the season.
